Microdermabrasion

A non-invasive exfoliation procedure using fine crystals or a diamond tip to remove dead skin layers, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and blemishes.

Process:
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliating treatment that mechanically removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells using a diamond-tip wand combined with suction. This stimulates collagen production and improves blood flow, resulting in smoother texture, refined pores, and enhanced skin brightness. Sessions typically last 30-60 minutes.

Pre-Treatment Precautions:

  • Avoid retinoids for at least 5 days before treatment.
  • Do not wax or use chemical peels one week prior.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks.
  • Inform your provider of any skin conditions such as rosacea or recent isotretinoin use.

Post-Treatment Care:

  • Mild redness and a “sandpaper” feel may last up to 24 hours.
  • Use gentle moisturizers and sunscreen daily.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubs and active exfoliants for at least a week.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent pigmentation.

Pros:

  • Immediate improvement in skin texture and tone.
  • Affordable and widely available.
  • Minimal discomfort with no downtime.

Cons:

  • Cannot treat deep acne scars or significant pigmentation alone.
  • Multiple sessions required for cumulative effects.
  • Temporary redness may occur.
